There’s no worse feeling in the world then not being able to go on a destination wedding to MAUI! Unfortunately, Brenda and Toby got married the same month I had my sweet Sadie or I totally would have hopped on a plane and shot their wedding. I REALLY need a vacation and the thought of warm Hawaiian water sounds so perfect. Luckily, I saw a few of their wedding day portraits and they are absolutely beautiful. Once they got back home we scheduled to do a bridal session as well so that they would have lots of pictures for their album.
I use to work with Brenda at the library back in high school and college (I know, the library, but it was a great job). I’m so happy for Brenda. Toby is a great guy (even if he doesn’t getting his picture taken). Congratulations guys!
Now that I’m back in the game I’ve made a few business choices. Since I am a nursing mommy, I am not booking as many weddings and am booking more portrait sessions. I’ve never really studied family sessions and geared my photography on them because I decided a while ago to focus on one part of photography. That one part was weddings.. I love them. It can be very overwhelming to try a be great as every aspect of photography. There’s newborns, families, seniors, maternity, studio work, events, commercial, landscape, weddings and the list goes on forever. Instead of being just ok at everything I decided I wanted to be respected as an artist and strive for greatness (I emphasize “strive”). So I’ve been only focusing on weddings, but I am excited to start opening up new doors and learning more.
Since I’ve gotten a lot of emails lately asking about portraits, I decided to post my pricing for a family session. I am charging $350 and that will include a 16×20 print mounted onto black standout board. I want my work to be treated as art and not a bunch of prints done at the local one hour photo. That’s why is included the 16×20 standout print. Please send me an email or give me a call if you would like to book a session! I would love to capture your family’s personality and faces so that you always have those memories.
Here’s what the sleek standout print looks like:

I love this Christmas card! Every year the Robinsons send out a funny Christmas card and this year they wanted to announce and show humor that they are expecting their fourth child. Four children…. twenty children… its all the same, right? The Duggars better watch their back because the Robinsons are following close behind.
I took a family portrait and then took a bunch of just the kids. A million photoshop hours later…. and WALLA!

In life I think you’re only given a few friends who are life long friends. Liz is one of those friends. We have been friends since middle school and I treasure her friendship dearly. Now we are SO much older and SO sophisticated and have our own children who are now good friends. That is really a cool thing that our children are now friends too. Liz and Beau just had baby Simeon, which makes baby number four! They are great parents and make it look easy. Here’s their cute little family.
I just got done making my HUGE list of sessions that I haven’t blogged in the last few months. I kinda fell of the face of the earth in my life as a photographer because I’ve been enjoying this beautiful face. I’m so sorry that I’ve been MIA lately, but I wouldn’t trade enjoying these special moments with my newborn for anything. There will be lots of posts in the near future as I play catch up on my blog! Thanks for looking!

If you want to have a good time then you should hang out with the Friedlanders. They are such a close knit fun family and it was a pleasure to capture their family portrait and some senior portraits for their son. I love the quirky last image of the dad. Here’s my top ten!

For a girl who doesn’t even normally wear make up, I think Melissa pulled off model quality quite well. Both of their moms joined us and they were loving it as much as me! The night was beautiful and as you can see, so was the couple. They are getting married next Friday so keep an eye out for more of their images in the near future. Here’s some of my favorites!
Meet Sam Ellis. She is a photographer from South Africa and somehow found me on the internet. She contacted me and and wanted to know if we could meet up and if I could get some fun shots of her. We had a blast sharing secrets and she taking crazy shots of eachother. This is also the day my camera died, but also the day I decided to get the new 5D Mark II. Bittersweet, huh? Thanks Sam for a great time!
I must apologize to anyone who has checked my blog more than once in the last six months, because it has NOT changed!!! I am so excited to be pregnant again that unfortunately my poor blog has taken the back seat. I am due with another fun little girl this September. I have a bunch of shoots that I would love to show off so this post is a combo plate of a little bit of everything that been going on lately.

What a fun day! I always love when I am hired to capture a wedding when I already know the couple and their families. The day turned out beautiful. It wasn’t that cold for a winter day, I heard the sealing was amazing and the decorations were gorgeous. I think fun was had by all at the reception. Any party that starts off with the, “Tootsee Roll” is definitely going to be a good one. Congratulations guys. Here’s my top ten…..well twelve!
